You're a Failure!?
FAILURE, every time we read that word either one of these things happen.
1. There is strike back reminder of our crippling mental state.
2. Our mind follows up that 'FAILURE' with 'EMOTIONAL DAMAGE'. (Thank you Steven He).
Although as we reach our adulthood ages it becomes way easier for us to make jokes about these things (as coping mechanisms) but the way we approached these things in our childhood was much more different. Now we know of our parent's expectation as an Indian Kid is at least 98% in exams followed with Engineering or Medicine or Law. The three musketeers of Indian Parent's dream for their child. But in a country which has a population of 140.76 crore, and people have such a rich cultural history it is not possible that each and every kid will grow up to be either of the three.
Now having these expectations on our parents end is not wrong. They want what is best for their children and will secure their future, but in 2023, perspectives have changed a lot in the desi home mindset. And I'd say that as long as you can prove that you are capable enough to earn through your chosen field and grow that earning, your parents will be ok with your professions. Now be that as it may, this realisation happens in mostly unorthodox households.
Excellence is something that each of us crave or at the very least we are pushed towards it. So much so that we stop allowing ourselves to be bad or even mediocre at something. Every time we fail we have that shadow take over our mind and think "I'll never be good at it!". We have got to ask ourselves one simple question in that scenario. "I'll never be good at it but is that such a bad thing?". It is not possible to ace everything, might as well allow ourselves to be a total failure at some things so that we can ace the important aspects of our life.
But let's say that failure is just not in the books for you and you've got to win. Sadly the way to do that is also through failure. Working out can be the best example to prove this. Being a GYM BRO myself, there is something we call training till failure, which means that you don't have any strength left for that exercise. And training till failure gives you that increase in strength for the sessions that follow later on.
So if you're going to have to take anything from this, just know that failure makes you stronger. And it's time that you embrace being a failure and just Do
"Don't! Learn to say F**K YOU to the world once in a while, you have every right to, just stop thinking, worrying, looking over your shoulder, wondering, doubting, fearing, hurting, hoping for some easy way out and Just DO!" - Benedict Cumberbatch
Brilliant post dude...it is high time now that the Indian society(mostly parents) understand that it is OKAY to fail...as long as the concerned individual learns from their mistakes...it is all a part of growth as a human being.
ReplyDeleteNot only ok, it's necessary to fail.
